After over 15+ years of feeling off track, I was fed up with myself.Â
I'd saved every IG post I'd ever seen on the topic of discipline and yet... I couldn't stick with anything longer than a couple days before the restriction got the best of me, and I gave up on myself yet again.Â
I felt SO hopeless. And so sick of spending countless hours a day overanalyzing what I just ate - or second-guessing what my next meal would be.
In 2021, when I met my now husband, I said - enough is enough. I couldn't even enjoy dating with the cloud of "being good" haunting me at every meal.Â
So I started to cultivate a different sort of intention with health... one focused on prioritizing my life and my values first, instead of my scale weight... and I was amazed at how much easier food started to feel.
I didn't gain weight like crazy, I didn't eat "out of control" like I feared.
But I was curious to get more rooted in this identity of a healthy person without overdoing it, so I kept searching for ways to master my understanding of food, getting double-certified as a nutrition coach, so I could finally know the truth about fueling my body for good.
I looked up a few years later, and realized how much easier it was to feel connected to my body, to eat consistently in alignment with my goals, and feel disciplined without feeling suffocated.Â
